Take care of your patients. We'll take care of you.
CHART members are carefully selected, and they share in the rewards of our risk management and patient safety efforts. Our long-term investment approach to patient care and safety provides a member experience unlike any offered by traditional insurance carriers.
CHART offers professional liability and general liability coverage in New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, with limits up to $25,000,000 in excess of primary coverage. Flexible limits are available for hospitals and employed physicians. For physicians, occurrence or claims-made coverage is available.
Our low rates are driven by low overhead, little member turnover, no income taxes, and our members’ commitment to safety. Our rates are typically 2/3 of those offered by other malpractice carriers.
CHART also provides coverage for security breaches including theft, loss, or unauthorized release of information, and breach support services including call center notification of affected individuals, computer forensics, identity theft fraud resolution services, and access to educational resources for strengthening compliance and information security. Coverage is underwritten by Lloyd’s of London and premiums are paid by CHART at no additional cost to the member.
Physicians’ professional liability coverage is available for physicians who practice primarily at member hospitals. Various limit structures are available, including separate limits for each provider.
Our underwriting is selective and our rates reflect CHART’s low overhead, low client turnover and no income tax liability as a reciprocal carrier.
